Sagamore Hills Elementary School was awarded a generous non-profit grant by the Children’s Board of the Rhame Family Foundation in September 2013, which enabled the school to re-establish and enhance its teaching garden and incorporate it directly into the school’s STEM curriculum to enhance children’s interest and education in subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The Rhame Family Foundation (RFF) was established in April of 2012. Tyson “Ty” Rhame, a native Atlanta businessman, established this foundation in order to give back to his community and encourage others to do the same. The Rhame Family Foundation’s primary mission is to support local public schools (K-12) with grants intended to enrich the learning experience of students and to assist local nonprofit organizations.
