Visitor Policy Change

Sagamore Hills Families:

PreK – Grade 1 Parents:

The DCSD protocols for visitors and volunteers have been amended for the first day of school to allow parents to escort their PreK, Kindergarten, and/or Grade 1 students to the classroom to wish them well on their first day. We look forward to seeing you with your young children tomorrow. Please remember that all mitigation strategies will be followed and are expected of visitors.  Masks are required.  Hand sanitizer will be available, and we ask that you practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible.  Thank you for your continued support, and we are excited to begin a great school year.

As of 7/31/21,  please note the change in the message below and DCSD guidance regarding visitors/volunteers.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow parents of 2nd grade-parents of 5th grade students to enter the building and walk their child to class on the 1st and 2nd day of school.  We will have "shepherds" (teachers/staff) available to help students find their classrooms.
Message from DeKalb County School District
Out of an abundance of caution and due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we will continue the visitor protocol that was in place for the 2020-2021 school year.
Visitors and volunteers will not be permitted in buildings until further notice.  We will continue to monitor conditions and data provided by the Department of Public Health(DPH), the DeKalb County Board of Health (DBOH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  It is our sincere hope that conditions will improve, and we will be able to reopen our doors and benefit from the value that our committed volunteers add to our schools and centers.
We appreciate each of our volunteers and community partners.  In the interim, we will look for and we invite you to help us identify opportunities for volunteers to support our school community virtually.
