What is Accelerated Reader?
Accelerated Reader is a computer program accessed through Renaissance Learning that helps parents and teachers encourage and monitor their students' reading. Your child picks a book and either reads independently or listens to the book. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the AR program. AR gives children, teachers, and librarians feedback based on the quiz results.
What books are AR books?
Many fiction and nonfiction books have tests written for them on the Accelerated Reader program. One way to find out if a book has a test is to search for it using:
*In our Sagamore Hills library, AR books have either an orange circle or an AR sticker on the spine of the book*
**AR Tests can now be taken at home **
